 Historically Jowhara was a small camp consisting of bamboo huts, which has grown over the years into a 55 room hotel. Jowhara has been owned by a local Bedouin family named "El Towery" ( ) for over 20 years and is currently managed by the third eldest son Mohamed Soliman El Towery. There are 7 Bedouin tribes residing in South Sinai and the El Towery family are from the El Muzeina tribe. As you travel in and around the Sinai you will see many of the Bedouin still living in the mountains and in the desert, upholding their heritage and maintaining their identity.
The Jowhara hotel is still run today by a Bedouin team and they work hard to keep the ancient traditions alive.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable with bathrooms and hot water at any time of the day. Some rooms have air conditioning while others a fan, and in the garden there is an "arisha" - a shaded open resting place - for you to relax. There is free Wi-Fi and we can help you on site to arrange everything, transfers, diving, safari, hiking or anything else you might need.
Although we are centrally based in Dahab the hotel is very quiet, peaceful and tranquil with gardens of green grass and plants.
Many of our guests come for a week and stay a month, so be prepared to stay longer than you planned! |
